Divorce

Darling,

Women are like trees.
When we are given fertile soil, glorious sunshine, abundant water, and a perfect climate, not only will we thrive and grow, but we will provide so much beauty and joy and nourishment for others.
But what are the ingredients necessary to cultivate a superior environment for a woman?
What causes her to thrive and be spectacularly healthy and creative?
This is an important question to ask yourself.
Are you living in an environment that nourishes you?
Or leaves you malnourished?
I wanted to share the story of a Mastery grad, Sister Goddess Darline, so you can experience exactly what happens to a woman when she is cut off from her power source, and then celebrate with her and for her, as she gets plugged back in…

Before I entered Mastery in the spring of 2011, the best way that I can describe my life was flat, numb, dimensionless, and grey. There were few ups and many downs. My marriage was swirling the toilet bowl. I had many acquaintances but few if any friends. I had a fledgling women’s health business that, despite my best efforts at the time, I couldn’t get to turn a profit. My family and close friends were thousands of miles away on each of the country’s coasts, and basically the only thing that I seemed to do with even marginal aplomb was raise my kids. continue reading…

How to get a guy to love you

Darling,

You did it.
You got the job you deserved.
You slogged through and got the divorce you needed.
The kids are handled and thriving.
You make friends every time you turn around.
But why oh why does love—real true love, with an amazing partner—remain just out of reach?
What have we women lost, in our efforts to accomplish so much?

Mama G,

I came across your name on Mastin Kipp’s site “The Daily Love.” I am intrigued and am looking forward to meeting you on January 26th in NYC.

4 years ago this month I took a bold leap and left my 17+ year marriage. I packed up my things (and my precious 3 children) and re-started my entire life. continue reading…

Darling,

It was just another cold December morning.  I woke up, got the kid on the bus, went to spin class, showered, dressed.
I settled in with a gigantic cup of English breakfast tea, in my God Save the Queen mug, to catch up with my emails before the office opened.  In my inbox, I received the most inspiring story from a woman who had written to me at 2 a.m. that morning.

I get gorgeous acknowledgments now and then from my grads, and I do not normally share them here.  I tuck them away in a special box.  But this email was too good to keep to myself.  It was inspiring in every way a woman wants to be inspired.  And I recommend that before you read it, you do what I did: make yourself a gigantic cup of tea in your version of a God Save the Queen Mug, print this story out, and sit down and enjoy the new 2013 fairy tale of a woman getting hers, creating hers, enjoying hers, exactly the way she wants.

Dearest Mama,
As I lie awake at 2 a.m. this morning unable to sleep, I am overcome with tears of gratitude. I had to drop you a line.  Today my life has changed in so many ways.  I could only have imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be living the life I do today.  Since first meeting you and the women at the School of Womanly Arts almost 4 years ago during Spring Mastery 2009, the changes in my life have been nothing short of a miracle.

Rewind to March, 2009.   continue reading…

Darlings,

About five years ago, while in the midst of a huge personal transformation (a.k.a. divorce), Sister Goddess Sally Blenkey offered me ballroom dance lessons with her husband, Alex Tchassov, as a Christmas gift. Saved Mama’s skinny little ass, she did, by giving my feeties a vehicle to soar, to sing, to celebrate, to learn to dance.

Dancing is not an intellectual activity. You cannot know of the butterfly within unless you take her out for a spin and let her flap. And you gotta know that I knew as much about a business plan as I did about tango – exactly nothing. This does not matter when your goal is to soar. Everyone has a butterfly within. Giving her space to fly gives wings to your dreams.

I feel like a queen in Alex’s arms, and I promise you – you will too. The Evening of Dance Seduction is more than a lesson in dancing – it is a lesson in partnership, trust, and owning your beauty. So grab your dancing shoes and allow yourself to be seduced by the beautiful art form of ballroom dancing.

With so much love and pleasure,
Mama Gena

When’s the last time you had the privilege of feeling as though you were pure poetry in motion? On Monday, May 23rd, from 6:30pm-9:30pm, Alex Tchassov will be hosting “An Evening of Dance Seduction,” designed to allow you to give full expression to your own joy, right on the dance floor, and learn the principles of pleasurable surrender, in the arms of a trained professional.

This event includes an introduction on how to enjoy dancing with anyone (even if you think that they—or you—have two left feet), exercises that encourage you to own your beauty, and practices in basic social dance patterns. The evening then culminates with a dance; Alex has invited a group of trained male dancers, who will each invite you onto the dance floor to be swirled and twirled. You will have the opportunity to dance with six different men. This is an ecstatically fun evening that replaces the stuffy notion of ballroom dancing with one of seduction, where you can practice the art of pleasurable surrender in a completely safe space. The price of this evening is $125. See www.alexandsally.com for details or call (347) 248-2533 to register.

Alex also teaches private lessons in NYC (Chelsea). To schedule a lesson, call Alex at (646) 515-4360.

And, if you’re looking for a workout that will leave you feeling head-over-heels in love with your body, Sally teaches Burlesque Bikini Bootcamp on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday in NYC (www.burlesquebikinibootcamp.com). On Saturday, May 7th, Sally is offering a one-day intensive on adoring your female form, called “The Boudoir Bunny Make-Over.” This event kicks off with a Burlesque Bikini Bootcamp workshop, where you’ll learn to appreciate every facet of your unique body type, followed by a champagne brunch with choreographers Lady Chardonnay and Pink Champagne, where you’ll dig deeper into the specific science of reframing your attitude toward your body—beauty and femininity comes in every shape and size! The day culminates with a styling session and makeover and your own Boudoir Bunny photo shoot. Allow this empowering photo shoot—and gorgeous photos of yourself—to transform the way you feel about your body! Call (347) 248-2533 to register.

6:30pm until 9:30pm

A legendary evening is just around the corner. Do you want in? Alex Tchassov has a very special experience planned for you. Designed to make your heart race, your senses sharpen, and allow you the practical experience of actually dancing with at least five different trained guys — all of whom want you to practice the art of relaxing, receiving, and responding.

The evening begins with a special warm-up designed to elevate your own sense of your divine feminine. Alex will then introduce you to his principles for delicious and pleasurable surrender. We will then invite our wonderful dance partners into the room — then the party begins. It does not matter if you have never danced a day in your life — Alex will teach you everything you need to know in order to enjoy the rich and sensuous experience of being danced around the floor. All of these lessons are designed to crack you open, to give you a divine taste of what this really good surrender can feel like — with the intention of you using this experience to invite more into your life!

We are super lucky that our evening will culminate with a show starring three-time U.S. and World champions Jose Decamps and Joanna Zacharewicz – who will enchant us with their exquisite, sexy, dramatic, and gorgeous dancing! The price for this evening is $150 – however, if you pay before the end of May, the discounted rate is $125. Call (347) 248-2533 to either pay by credit card or make arrangement to send a check.

Want to bring even more positive energy into your life? Consider joining Alex and Sally’s dance troupe “The Pocohos.” Some of our members are experienced dancers, and many never danced a day in their life before they met us. We rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm until 8:30pm in Chelsea Studios in NYC. We will resume rehearsals in late August 2010 for a performance in the Pocono Mountains on October 17th-19th, 2010. Many troupe members have said this is the most fun they have ever had in their adult life. The larger goal of our dance group is to participate in glamorous choreography, even if you think it is too much for you. We want you to really think of the image you would like to project and use the rehearsal period to become the person of YOUR fantasy — and through this, get a newfound sense of your own beauty and confidence. Anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Our next dance performance has a Madonna theme. For more info, go to www.alexandsally.com or give Sally a call at (347) 248-2533.
